Learning Foreign Languages: Why I Think It Is Extremely Important!

This is a topic which I care about since I have been studying foreign languages (English and French) for years now. When I was in Norway, I got the chance to learn the beautiful language that Norwegian is, and now that I’m studying at the second year of Interpreting and Translation at University, I’ve also taken up Spanish. I really hope to become an interpreter/translator, it is my dream job! I really like working with foreign languages because they can really be a bridge between peoples and their own cultures.
I wanted to write this post to let you guys now how I feel about learning a new language, whatever it may be! Of course, I would recommend Italian since I have started this wonderful journey on this blog and youtube channel, but every and each language is important.
When you start learning a foreign language, you also start learning about a new culture, a whole new different world than yours. You realize that there are different point of views and that things are approached differently in other countries than they are in yours.
What is more, this brings along many important values, such as respect, understanding and acceptance of what is different from you.
Learning a new language opens your mind, makes you become more open-minded and really free from prejudices.
You will feel comfortable travelling around the world because you are able to communicate and make yourself understood.
You will really be a world’s citizen.
Do you also think learning a language is important? If so, why is that? I would really love to hear from you!
I hope you will take up my advice, chose a language and start learning it!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed reading this post.
All the best to you all,
CIAO!

  1. Wow, you are awesome! 🙂 I would second your opinion, mi professora. My first language is Indonesian, but I speak English and Arabic and some Spanish, and now I learn Italian. Thanks to you, yay! 🙂

Now I come to a realization that monolingualism is dull. Multilingualim is sexy. 😉

      1. Grazie!

  3. Well written! And such lovely pictures of you. 🙂 I hope I can catch up on your blog soon, just settling in to Dubai and haven´t found an apartment yet. But soon – inshallah!

Speak your mind!
