Two tips to learn new words

Oggi voglio condividere con voi due consigli per memorizzare e imparare parole nuove.
Today I would like to share with you two tips to memorise and learn new words.

Arricchire il proprio lessico in una lingua straniera è la parte più importante dell’imparare una nuova lingua perché ci avere un’ampia gamma di parole tra cui scegliere ci permette di comunicare meglio e di adattare il nostro discorso in base alla situazione.
Enriching your vocabulary in a foreign language is the most important part of learning a new language because having a wide range of words to choose enables you to communicate better and adapt your discourse according to the situation.

Il primo consiglio è scrivere ogni giorno le parole nuove in un’agenda settimanale, così da poter sapere in che giorno avete imparato una certa parola e per essere più organizzati. Se avete un taccuino con le pagine bianche, basta scrivere la data in cima alla pagina!
The first tip is writing new words in a dated notebook or agenda everyday, so that you can keep track of when you have learned a certain word. If you have a notebook with blank pages, just write the date on the upper right corner of the page!

Il secondo consiglio è di usare i post-it con su scritte le parole che potete appiccicare sugli oggetti di cui volete imparare il nome. Potete farli da soli, ovvero scrivere la parola su un post-it, oppure usare quelli già pronti. Avete mai sentito parlare dei Flashsticks? Sono dei Post-It con le parole straniere stampate sopra. Sono disponibili in otto lingue (una di queste è l’italiano!) e potete scegliere tra tre livelli di competenza: principiante, intermedio e avanzato.
The second tip is using sticky notes with words on them that you can stick on objects you want to learn the names of. You can write the words yourself or use pre-printed sticky notes. Have you ever heard of Flashsticks? They are Post-It notes with foreign words written on them. They come in eight different languages (one of them is Italian!) and for each language you can choose from three levels of proficiency: beginner, intermediate and advanced.

I post-it cambiano colore in base al genere della parola: le parole di genere femminile sono scritte su post-it rosa e quelli di genere maschile su post-it blu. Altre parole, come ad esempio i verbi, sono scritte su post-it verdi.
Post-it notes change colour according to the gender of the noun: feminine nouns are written on pink notes and masculine nouns on blue notes. Other words, such as verbs, are written on green notes.

Lo trovo un modo simpatico e veloce per imparare nuove parole! E poi a chi non piacciono le cose che hanno a che fare con la cancelleria?! Scherzi a parte, con questo metodo potete ampliare il vostro lessico. Sarei contenta se decidessero di ampliare la gamma di parole e aggiungere più post-it sui verbi: sarebbe un’idea fantastica aggiungere le coniugazioni dei verbi nei tempi più usati!
I find it is a fun and quick way to learn new words! And then who does not like anything related with stationery?! Joking aside, you can really build up your vocabulary with this method. I would be really happy if they decided to expand the words range and add more verbs: it would be a great idea to add verbs conjugations for the most used tenses!
