Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!
Today I would like to review the use of passato prossimo in Italian. Passato prossimo is a verbal tense of the indicative mood and it is very used in contemporary Italian language, especially in spoken Italian. It is used to talk about recent events in the past, for example to tell what you did on Christmas day or on NYE (which happened in recent past).
In my last video lesson, I teach you three useful questions to ask someone what they did on Christmas day and you can adapt the questions to any situation, NYE, birthdays, holidays. The questions are: (translations)
1) What did you do on Christmas day/ on NYE/ on your birthday/ this past summer?
2) How did you spend Xmas day / NYE/ your birthday/ last summer?
3) How did you spend // // // // ?

I hope you are having a great new year!

This is the best video you have created for the beginning to medium learner. You speak slowly, alternate between english and italian and the subtitles enable the follower to learn at just the right pace. Grazie Mille. Buon Anno Felice Lucrezia.
Thank you, Daniel 😀
Specialmente l’ascolto.
Purtroppo per praticare la conversazione no ho molte opportunità.
Mi piacerebbe tornare in Italia per praticare 🙂
Love your new header. Very cute.
Thank you!
Ciao Lucrezia,
I am an older adult who is trying to learn Italian. I have several reasons for wanting to learn. I adore the language, I am of Italian decent and am in the process of applying for dual-citizenship, and lastly, I plan to travel to Italy for the first time this November 2016 and would really love to be able to understand and speak Italian.
I am currently taking an evening class from a technical school, as an enrichment class, but it is very time limited (small number of sessions). My biggest problem is that I have a hard time hearing the words. I am more of a visual learner, so it is a great challenge for me.
I am a IT professional, so I have a fair education, but seem to really struggle with learning the language.
Can you offer any suggestions ? And how can I find a list of all your lessons, so that I can go thru them in an orderly fashion ?
Buona sera!
Donna
