Conversation in Italian: Daily Routine (Beginner Level)

Today’s post is going to be about conversation!

When I first began to learn English, one of the very first task I remember learning was to talk about my daily routine, that is things that I do on a daily basis. This is a great way to begin exercising your speaking skills and a great way to learn verbs and vocabulary you can build simple sentences with 🙂

IMPORTANT VERBS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING:

SVEGLIARSI – TO WAKE UP —> IO MI SVEGLIO – I WAKE UP

ALZARSI – TO GET UP —> IO MI ALZO – I GET UP

FARE COLAZIONE – TO HAVE BREAKFAST —> IO FACCIO COLAZIONE – I HAVE BREAKFAST

LAVARSI I DENTI – TO BRUSH ONE’S TEETH —> IO MI LAVO I DENTI – I BRUSH MY TEETH

TRUCCARSI – TO PUT MAKE-UP ON —> IO MI TRUCCO – I PUT MAKE-UP ON

USCIRE – TO GO OUT —> IO ESCO – I GO OUT

ANDARE  A – TO GO TO —> IO VADO A SCUOLA – I GO TO SCHOOL / IO VADO A LAVORO – I GO TO WORK

PRANZARE – TO HAVE LUNCH —> IO PRANZO – I HAVE LUNCH

TORNARE A – TO GO BACK TO —> IO TORNO A CASA – I GO BACK HOME

GUARDARE – TO WATCH —> IO GUARDO LA TELEVISIONE – I WATCH TELEVISION

CUCINARE – TO COOK —> IO CUCINO – I COOK

CENARE – TO HAVE DINNER —> IO CENO – I HAVE DINNER

ANDARE A LETTO – TO GO TO BED —> IO VADO A LETTO – I GO TO BED

DORMIRE – TO SLEEP —> IO DORMO – I SLEEP

Now, let’s put all this information together in a small text:

La mattina mi sveglio, mi alzo e faccio colazione. Poi mi lavo i denti, mi trucco e esco di casa per andare a scuola. A mezzogiorno pranzo. Il pomeriggio torno a casa e guardo la televisione. La sera cucino e poi ceno. In seguito vado a dormire.
